An independently owned dog and cat nutrition store in downtown Hartsville, South Carolina. 

Purrs McBarkin' was founded in November 2021 by Dave Zanoni to help pet owners make more informed decisions about what goes into the bowl.

Independently owned and operated in Hartsville, South Carolina, the store focuses exclusively on dogs and cats. Customers are encouraged to look beyond marketing claims and better understand the ingredients, formulation, and nutritional purpose of the products they purchase.

Dave works directly with customers each day and encourages collaboration with veterinarians whenever a question involves diagnosis, treatment, or medical care.

Before opening Purrs McBarkin', Dave Zanoni spent 36 years in engineering, a profession built on solving problems, questioning assumptions, and following evidence.

In 2021, he applied that same mindset to pet nutrition, creating a store where pet owners could ask questions, look beyond marketing claims, and better understand the choices they make for their dogs and cats.

Certified in Canine and Feline Nutrition through Southern Illinois University, Dave focuses on helping pet owners navigate nutrition with clarity, context, and practical education.
