126 E Carolina Ave Hartsville, SC 29550 OPEN TUESDAY THROUGH SATURDAY 10AM - 6PM

This store was built from the ground up with one thing in mind: doing right by pets, and by the people who love them.
Purrs McBarkin’ isn’t part of a chain, a franchise, or a corporate roll-up. It’s just me—right here in Hartsville—showing up Tuesday through Saturday to help you make the best choices for your dog or cat. The kind of choices that cut through the noise, ignore the gimmicks, and actually put your pet’s health first.
I started this business because I saw a problem: too many pet foods making big promises but delivering very little. Clever marketing was hiding weak ingredients, and pets were the ones paying for it. I wanted something better. So I built it.
Every product on my shelves is handpicked with care, backed by science, and chosen for one reason: because I believe it helps. If I wouldn’t feed it to my own animals, it doesn’t make it through the door.
I’m certified in canine and feline nutrition through Southern Illinois University (SIU). That matters—not just because the science is solid, but because the program is independent. No pet food sponsorships. No industry funding. Just education, honestly earned.
And that same independence carries through to the Purrs McBarkin’ blog, which you can visit from this site. There are no ads. No affiliate links. No hidden agendas. I don’t monetize your attention—I respect it.
This store was built on trust. Whether you're stopping in to find the right food, browse healthy treats, or just ask a few questions, you'll find a space that’s calm, personal, and deeply committed to your pet’s well-being.
So stay as long as you’d like. Come visit when you're ready. And if something here helps you feel more confident, more informed, or more connected to the animals who count on you—pass it on. Because the more people who know better, the more pets get better.
Your pets deserve the best. I’m here to help you give it to them.
